A train accident crosses the paths of the protagonists: a 45-year-old woman, divorced and with two children, travels to visit her eldest son in the city where he studies, as the boy has addiction problems. The 25-year-old studies to be a machinist and returns home to visit his father.

After the derailment, both are trapped in a mountainous area and in the heat of the cold wave. Snow, low temperatures and the inability to ask for help put their lives in danger, forcing them to face their prejudices in order to survive.
